
DR. SAMI K. SAIKALY
Education
Dr. Sami Saikaly attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Microbiology and Cell Sciences. He completed medical school at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, where he was elected class president and inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, and dermatology residency at the University of Florida, where he served as the chief resident of academics during his final year of training. He was also awarded the University of Florida Department of Dermatology Academic Distinction Award in 2020-2021.
Experience
After completing residency, Dr. Sami Saikaly joined UF Health’s Department of Dermatology, where he served as a clinical assistant professor, the Director of Cosmetics Clinics, and the Director of the University of Florida Department of Dermatology’s nationwide board review course. During this time, he became recognized nationally as an expert in cosmetic procedures including botulinum toxin (e.g. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin), dermal fillers, lasers (e.g. vascular lasers, laser resurfacing, laser scar revision, pigment lasers, and laser hair removal), chemical peels, ThreadLifts, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Kybella, and microneedling, among others. In addition to cosmetic dermatology, his clinical interests were (and continue to be) general dermatology and excisional surgery of skin cancer.
Research
Dr. Sami Saikaly has a strong interest in research. Including textbook chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles, he has authored over 55 publications. He has presented at national and international meetings. He has mentored numerous medical students who then matched into prestigious dermatology residency programs.
National & International Societies
Dr. Sami Saikaly serves as the Chair of the Advocacy Committee for the Association of Academic Cosmetic Dermatologists and is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the International Peeling Society, and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
